Stripe Managed Payments
Stripe Managed Payments is Stripe acting as merchant of record: 3.5% on top of standard Stripe processing, so 6.4% + $0.30 all-in. For that premium Stripe becomes the legal seller in 75+ countries and takes tax registration, filing, fraud and dispute liability off your books. It is the clearest published price anyone has put on merchant-of-record status, and the natural comparison for Lemon Squeezy users after Stripe's acquisition.

What the premium actually buys
- Stripe is the seller on the customer's statement and in the tax authority's view.
- Tax registration, calculation, collection and filing across 75+ countries.
- Fraud and dispute liability as merchant.
- No work for you at any volume or in any new market.
When it is worth it
When revenue is spread across many countries and you would otherwise hold VAT/GST registrations, or when the finance headcount to do it costs more than the points. When revenue is concentrated in the US, EU and UK — where Whop's 2% service collects and remits — the premium is mostly buying liability you can carry yourself.
If you are on Lemon Squeezy
Lemon Squeezy's pricing page now points at Stripe Managed Payments following the acquisition. That makes this a live decision rather than a hypothetical: 5% + 50¢ today, 6.4% + 30¢ on the Stripe path, or 4.7% + 30¢ on Whop with managed tax and the liability back on you. What moving involves.
