Frequently asked questions

Is Whop a merchant of record?

No. Whop processes payments and offers an optional managed tax service (2% per transaction) that calculates, collects and — in the US, EU and UK — remits tax. Paddle, Lemon Squeezy and Gumroad are merchants of record; Stripe offers it as Managed Payments at +3.5%. Details.

What does Whop charge businesses?

2.7% + $0.30 per domestic card transaction, +1.5% international, +1% currency conversion. Optional: billing 0.5%, orchestration 0.8%, tax 2%, affiliate processing 1.25%. Disputes $15. Enterprise pricing is custom. Full schedule by volume.

Can I move saved cards and subscriptions to Whop?

Subscriptions cannot be transferred between processors; customers re-consent. Stripe can export card data to another PCI-compliant processor on request; whether Whop accepts an import is not documented publicly — confirm with Whop before planning on it. Stripe migration guide.
